Delivery Driver

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers. This role requires excellent driving skills, good organisational abilities, and strong communication skills to provide exceptional service. Responsibilities

• Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Plan efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
• Load and unload goods, often involving heavy lifting, with proper handling techniques.
• Verify delivery orders and obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Follow health and safety protocols at all times to ensure personal safety and that of others.

Experience

• Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role within logistics or warehouse environments.
• Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record; commercial driving experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with local roads and navigation systems.
• Experience with heavy lifting and manual handling tasks.
• Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members.
• Previous experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous but not essential.
