Nursery Room Leader

Family First Care is looking for a passionate Nursery Room Leader to join Brimpton House Day Nursery & Pre-school in Kelvedon (near Colchester). This is a brilliant opportunity to lead a toddler room (ages 1–2) in a supportive setting, shaping children’s earliest learning while progressing your childcare career in Essex.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of the 1–2s room, ensuring a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities aligned with the EYFS, supporting learning and development
- Guide, mentor and motivate practitioners, setting high standards for care, routine and engagement
- Build strong partnerships with parents/carers through updates, handovers and key person responsibilities
- Maintain accurate records, observe and assess progress, and support safeguarding and welfare standards

What You’ll Need
- Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification (or equivalent) and solid nursery experience
- Confidence leading a room, organising routines and supporting a small team
- Good knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and best practice in toddler development
- Warm communication skills, reliability, and a genuine passion for early years education
