Class 1 Container Driver

Join Driving Force – Birmingham as a Class 1 Container Driver based in Stanford-le-Hope, supporting the busy London Gateway operation. This contract role offers reliable, ongoing work with evening start times and excellent earning potential for professional HGV1 drivers in Essex.

Key Responsibilities
- Drive Class 1 (CE) container loads to and from London Gateway, ports and customer sites
- Complete vehicle checks and report defects in line with DVSA and company standards
- Ensure safe, compliant driving, including tachograph and Working Time Directive adherence
- Manage paperwork, PODs and basic transport system updates as required
- Provide a dependable, customer-focused service with clear communication to planners

What You'll Need
- Valid Class 1 (CE) licence with Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous container/port work experience and strong knowledge of safe load handling
- A professional, safety-first attitude and excellent timekeeping for PM start times (16:00–20:00)
- Desirable: London Gateway familiarity and a solid understanding of compliance documentation
