Join AJ Chambers in Wickford as a Part-Time Senior Payroller (3 days per week) and take real ownership of payroll for a successful, multi-entity retail, e-commerce and logistics group. This is a standalone, hands-on position offering autonomy, stability and a great work/life balance in Essex, with an attractive salary of up to £38k FTE (pro rata). Key Responsibilities - Run end-to-end payroll processing across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and on-time payments - Manage payroll inputs, validations, reconciliations and reporting to support finance and leadership teams - Maintain payroll records, handle starters/leavers and support HR with payroll-related queries - Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation and internal controls - Act as the go-to payroll contact, continuously improving processes and documentation What You'll Need - Proven experience in a Senior Payroll role, confident managing payroll independently - Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, statutory payments and reporting requirements - Excellent attention to detail, confidentiality and the ability to meet deadlines consistently - Comfortable working with payroll systems and Excel; multi-entity experience is desirable Why Apply You’ll enjoy a permanent part-time schedule (22.5 hours, Monday, Tuesday & Thursday) and the chance to make this role your own within a growing Essex-based business.
