Has anyone else noticed how busy the market’s been by The Liberty lately, especially around South Street? I’m after a decent Sunday roast in town that isn’t too pricey — was thinking The Golden Lion on North Street but I’ve not been in ages. Any recommendations (or places to avoid) if you’re walking off lunch with a lap round Raphael Park after?
Yeah South Street by The Liberty’s been rammed lately, especially weekends. For a decent, not-too-pricey Sunday roast I’ve had a good one at The Golden Lion recently, and it’s an easy stroll up to Raphael Park after — what time are you heading out?
South Street’s definitely been chock-a-block whenever I’ve been past The Liberty. If you want a roast that won’t sting, I’d try The Crumpled Horn in Hornchurch then wander round Raphael Park after; are you after proper pub grub or something a bit lighter?
It’s always heaving round the market by The Liberty on a Sunday now. If you’re walking it off with a lap of Raphael Park after, The Ship on North Street does a solid roast for the money, but I’d give it a miss if you’re after somewhere quiet as it gets noisy quick.
