Assistant Site Manager - Social Housing Refurbishments

Howells Recruitment is seeking an Assistant Site Manager to support social housing refurbishments in Epping, Essex. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Site Manager to deliver planned internal and external refurbishment works across occupied social housing properties
- Supervise subcontractors and operatives on site, coordinating daily tasks, access, and sequencing to keep programmes on track
- Monitor quality standards and ensure works meet specifications, resolving issues quickly and professionally
- Maintain a safe working environment, helping to enforce H&S procedures, permits, and site housekeeping
- Liaise with residents, client representatives, and supply chain to ensure smooth communication and minimal disruption

What You’ll Need
- Experience assisting on site within social housing planned works/refurbishments (decent homes, kitchens/bathrooms, roofing, external works)
- Solid knowledge of health & safety and site processes; SSSTS/SMSTS preferred
- Strong communication skills, especially in occupied environments with resident liaison
- Organised, proactive approach with the confidence to manage subcontractors and report progress
