Field Service Engineer – Join Our Established Team in Laindon, Basildon, Essex

About the Role: We are a family business, based in Laindon, Basildon, Essex who supply and service machinery within the flat glass and more recently stone industries, and are the main agents and resellers for some leading European brands of flat glass and stone processing equipment.

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Field Service Engineer to join our team.

Your role will be to install, service and repair equipment within these industries, working mainly at our customers premises and is a fantastic opportunity to work within a supportive team environment, offering variety in your day-to-day tasks and the chance to develop your skills further.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding abilities.
• Good communication skills, fluent in English, and must be able to work both independently as well as be part of our team of service engineers.
• Reliable, conscientious, trustworthy, and able to perform well under pressure.
• Previous experience in the glass industry is an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
• Computer literate with a good understanding of technology.
• Full, valid UK driving licence is required.
• Based within easy reach of our Basildon office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, servicing, and repair of flat glass processing machinery.
• Full support and product training working alongside our service engineers. Training will also be offered at the premises of the companies we represent in Italy and Spain.
• Working primarily within and around the M25 area, with occasional overnight stays across the UK. (If staying overnight, accommodation will be in good quality hotels, with all expenses covered).

Hours & Benefits:

• Standard 40-hour workweek, with regular opportunities for Monday to Friday optional overtime.
• Attractive basic salary of £37,000 per year, with expected earnings of about £46,000 including weekday optional overtime.
• Travel time paid to and from our customers sites.

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 5 day, 8-hour basic day, with flexible hours.
• Overtime as required.
