Manufacturing Engineer - Basildon

Join Morson Edge as a Contract Manufacturing Engineer in Basildon, supporting a leading aerospace and defence electronics client. This is a fantastic Essex opportunity to work on mission-critical systems that enhance situational awareness, communications and protection across land, air and sea.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for complex electronic/mechanical assemblies to meet cost, quality and delivery targets
- Create and maintain production documentation including work instructions, routings and process specifications
- Provide shop-floor engineering support, investigating non-conformances and driving corrective actions
- Lead continuous improvement activities (Lean/6 Sigma) to increase yield, throughput and reliability
- Collaborate with design, quality and supply chain teams to support NPI, industrialisation and DFM/DFA reviews

What You'll Need
- Proven manufacturing engineering experience within aerospace, defence electronics or other regulated/high-reliability environments
- Strong understanding of manufacturing methods, process control, root cause analysis and problem solving (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys)
- Confidence working with engineering drawings, BOMs and technical documentation; able to communicate clearly with stakeholders
- Desirable: experience with IPC standards, SAP/ERP, PFMEA/control plans, or test/inspection processes
