Part Time Shopfloor Assistant

Join Selco Builders Warehouse as a Part Time Shopfloor Assistant in Grays, supporting local trades and DIY customers with friendly, practical service. It’s a great opportunity to build retail and customer service experience in Essex while working flexible hours in a busy builders’ merchant environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service on the shopfloor, helping customers find the right products and solutions
- Operate specialist equipment safely, including sawmill, paint mixing and (where trained) forklifts
- Maintain strong store standards through merchandising, stock rotation and shelf replenishment
- Support goods handling in line with safe working practices, with reasonable adjustments available where needed
- Work as part of a supportive team across flexible shifts over 7 days (16 hours per week)

What You’ll Need
- A positive, can-do approach and confidence speaking with customers face-to-face
- Reliability and the ability to work flexible part-time shifts, including weekends
- Comfort with a hands-on role involving building materials and manual handling
- Desirable: retail, warehouse or builders’ merchant experience; equipment/forklift training (or willingness to learn)
