Mechanical Assembler

A1 Personnel Employment Agency Ltd is recruiting a Mechanical Assembler for a busy engineering site in Wickford. This is a great opportunity to secure steady weekday hours, develop your assembly skills, and work with a well-established local employer in Essex.

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies to specification, using hand and power tools
- Read and follow work instructions, drawings, and basic schematics to ensure accurate builds
- Carry out quality checks, measuring and inspecting parts to meet required standards
- Support the workshop/warehouse team with kitting, packaging, and safe movement of components
- Maintain a clean, organised work area and follow health & safety procedures at all times

What You'll Need
- Previous experience as a Mechanical Assembler, Production Operative, Fitter, or similar engineering role
- Confident use of hand tools and power tools (e.g., drills, drivers, torque tools)
- Good attention to detail and ability to work to deadlines without compromising quality
- Reliable, team-focused attitude; willingness to learn and take instruction
