Has anyone in Great Dunmow got a good recommendation for a local groomer who’s patient with nervous dogs? I usually walk mine round Doctor’s Pond and down Stortford Road, but he’s getting a bit matted and I don’t fancy stressing him out. If you’ve used anyone near the High Street (by the White Hart) or know a decent mobile groomer who comes out to Chelmsford Road way, I’d love to hear your thoughts.

We’ve had good luck with Paws & Claws just off the High Street near the White Hart, they were really patient with our nervous lad and didn’t rush him. If you’re on Chelmsford Road, are you after a proper de-mat or just a tidy up?

I’ve heard good things about The Dog House on the industrial bit near Chelmsford Road – a friend takes her rescue there and they’re really calm and take it slow. Is your lad ok being handled at home, or does he do better somewhere neutral?

We use Dunmow Dog Grooming on Stortford Road and they let our anxious spaniel have a few mins to settle before they start, no fuss. Have you tried popping in after your Doctor’s Pond walk to see if they can do a quick mat check first?
