Anyone heading to the food and craft market on Chelmsford High Street this weekend? I’m thinking of popping down after a walk through Central Park and grabbing a coffee near Moulsham Street, but I’m not sure what time it gets busiest. If you’ve been before, is it better first thing or more of an afternoon atmosphere, and is it worth booking a table at the Railway Tavern afterwards?
I’ve been a couple of times and it’s usually busiest late morning into early afternoon, so if you want a quieter browse go first thing after Central Park. Railway Tavern can get rammed on a weekend, so I’d book if you’re planning food rather than just a quick pint.
I’d go mid‑afternoon if you want a bit of atmosphere without it feeling too manic, then nip over for that coffee by Moulsham Street after. If you’re thinking of eating at the Railway Tavern rather than just drinks, I’d reserve as weekends fill up fast.
