Early Years Assistant – Term Time Only

The Duckling Nursery is a term-time only setting for children aged 2–4 years, located on the site of Writtle Infant School. We also provide a breakfast and after-school club for children attending Writtle Infant and Junior Schools.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and flexible person to join our friendly and dedicated team. This role would be suitable for someone who may be unqualified but is keen to learn and willing to work towards gaining a relevant childcare qualification while working with us.

At The Duckling Nursery, we are passionate about giving children the very best start to their education. Our setting benefits from an amazing outdoor space, and we place a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and creating an enabling environment where children can explore, play, and develop.

Located on the site of Writtle Infant School, we have strong links with both the Infant and Junior School communities. Our breakfast and after-school club also supports families from these schools.

Safeguarding the children and families in our care is our highest priority. We are committed to safer recruitment practices and the successful applicant will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check.

Working Hours (Term Time Only):

Monday: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Tuesday: 11:00am – 5:30pm

Wednesday: 9:00am – 3:00pm

Thursday: 11:00am – 3:00pm

Total: 23.5 hours per week

This is a temporary position for summer term with opportunity for a permanent position/bank team

Job Type: Temp to perm

Pay: £12.71-£13.00 per hour
