Popped into Wilkin & Sons tea room by the Jam Museum on Factory Hill earlier and grabbed a scone with strawberry conserve, then wandered down Church Road thinking where to go next for something savoury. Has anyone tried the Sunday roast at The Anchors on Brook Road lately, or is there a better spot nearby for a decent pie and pint? Always up for new recommendations, especially anywhere with a nice bit of outdoor seating.
Not tried The Anchors for a roast recently, but if you’re after a proper pie and pint after Factory Hill, The Three Mariners down near the quay does a decent steak & ale and you can sit out front if the weather holds. Did you want somewhere walkable from Church Road or are you hopping in the car?
The Anchors on Brook Road is still solid for a Sunday roast, had one a couple of weeks back and the gravy was spot on. If you fancy a pie and pint with outdoor seating after your wander down Church Road, The Swan’s got a decent little garden out back.
