If you’re in Tiptree this week, make time for a proper local food stop: a stroll through the Wilkin & Sons tearoom for a cream tea and a browse of the jam shop is hard to beat, and it’s even better when paired with a wander around the village. We’d also love to hear your hidden gems nearby, whether it’s a café with great coffee, a pub doing a cracking Sunday roast, or a farm shop worth the detour. Where are you taking visiting friends for a taste of Tiptree?

Wilkin & Sons is a must, but if I’ve got visitors I usually take them for a quick loop round the Jam Museum too while we’re there. Any decent pub in the village doing food midweek?

Love a browse in the jam shop, but I usually grab a coffee from Tiptree Tea Rooms on Church Road as well if I’m meeting mates. Any good farm shops nearby that are open on Sundays?

If you’re doing Wilkin & Sons for the jam shop, it’s worth popping over to the Tiptree Heath nature reserve afterwards for a proper little walk. Any recommendations for a pub nearby that does a decent Sunday roast?

Wilkin’s is always a winner for a cream tea, especially after a wander round the village. If you fancy another stop, the tea rooms at Layer Marney Tower aren’t far and make a cracking little detour.
