Recommendation

Can anyone recommend a good spot in Rayleigh for a proper Sunday roast that isn’t too noisy? I’m torn between trying The Rayleigh Lodge on Eastwood Road again or somewhere closer to Rayleigh High Street, maybe near King George V playing field for a walk after. Bonus points if they’ve got decent veggie options and you can actually get parked without doing laps around Websters Way — where do you all go?

Try The Olde Crown near Rayleigh High Street – their Sunday roast’s solid, it’s usually calmer if you book an earlier sitting, and they’ve got a decent veggie option too. Parking can still be a bit of a faff but I’ve had more luck round Websters Way than by Eastwood Road, then it’s an easy stroll over to King George V after.
