Has anyone else noticed the traffic getting a bit daft along High Street and down towards Head Street lately, especially around school run time? I’m thinking of popping into The Blueberry for a coffee after a walk round Bishops Hall Park this weekend — any other good spots in town for a quiet sit-down that aren’t too rammed? Also, if anyone’s got a decent local takeaway recommendation (something other than the usual chippy), I’m all ears.
I’ve started cutting through the side streets because High Street into Head Street is gridlocked at school run, it’s doing my head in. If The Blueberry’s too busy after Bishops Hall Park, try Caffè Sala for a quieter sit-down, and for a takeaway that isn’t a chippy I’d say grab a curry from Passu.
High Street’s always a pinch point at school run, but it’s felt worse since the roadworks started up again. If The Blueberry’s busy after Bishops Hall Park, try Timbers on Trinity Street for a quieter coffee, and for a non-chippy takeaway Kintsu does cracking sushi.
Yeah, High Street down to Head Street’s been a nightmare around the school run lately. The Blueberry’s a nice shout, and if you want somewhere a bit quieter try Three Wise Monkeys earlier in the day; for takeaway other than a chippy, Middletons does a decent pizza if you’re near town.
Head Street’s been backing up loads even outside the school run, I’ve started avoiding it altogether. If The Blueberry’s packed after Bishops Hall Park, try Sip & Tuck on St John’s Street for a quieter cuppa, and for takeaway that isn’t a chippy I rate Naka Thai on Crouch Street.
