Arboricultural Officer - Permanent

Join Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited to support Southend City Council’s Parks Team as a permanent Arboricultural Officer in Southend-on-Sea. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular tree inspections on council-owned land including highways, parks, woodlands, housing land and schools
- Diagnose tree condition and identify risks, specifying appropriate remedial works and priorities
- Raise and manage work orders using the Ezytreev system, ensuring accurate records and audit trails
- Liaise with internal teams, contractors and stakeholders to coordinate safe, compliant tree works
- Identify suitable locations and species for planting and contribute to long-term tree management plans

What You'll Need
- Experience in arboriculture/tree inspection, ideally within a local authority or public realm setting
- Relevant qualification such as Arboriculture, Forestry or equivalent, with sound knowledge of tree legislation and best practice
- Confidence using digital systems (Ezytreev desirable) and producing clear reports and specifications
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to safety, customer service and teamwork
