Mechanical Engineer

Join Venn Group in Wickford as a Mechanical Engineer (Estates Technician) supporting a busy, on-site Estates & Facilities function. This is a fantastic Essex opportunity to work in a complex healthcare environment where your mechanical expertise directly helps keep vital services running safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect and repair mechanical plant and building services (including HVAC, pumps, valves and pipework)
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive breakdowns to minimise downtime
- Support compliance checks, documentation and asset records in line with site and statutory requirements
- Assist with fault-finding, minor works and improvement projects to enhance reliability and performance
- Liaise with colleagues and contractors to ensure safe working practices and excellent service delivery

What You'll Need
- Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds/Apprenticeship or equivalent)
- Proven experience in building services, estates maintenance or a similarly complex environment
- Strong knowledge of health & safety, permits to work and safe systems (desirable)
- Good communication skills and a practical, customer-focused approach
