Nursery Manager – Wickford, Essex (Education & Childcare)
Great Starts Recruitment LTD is seeking an inspirational Nursery Manager to lead an established, growing 100-place nursery in Wickford. This is a brilliant opportunity to shape outstanding early years provision locally, with a competitive salary of £40,000–£45,000 p/a and a supportive, ambitious environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day nursery operations, ensuring high-quality care, learning and safeguarding across the setting
- Manage, coach and inspire a large early years team, driving performance, training and positive culture
- Ensure compliance with EYFS, Ofsted and all relevant policies, procedures and statutory requirements
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals, promoting excellent communication
- Oversee occupancy, staffing and budgets to support sustainable growth and exceptional outcomes for children

What You’ll Need
- Proven experience as a Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager in a busy early years setting
- Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted expectations, with a track record of quality improvement
- Confident leadership skills, including staff supervision, recruitment and professional development
- Level 3 (or above) Early Years qualification and the ability to lead by example
