Had a bit of a wobble this week after hearing about a couple of phone snatches near Loughton Central, especially around the cut-through by Station Road and the High Road shops late afternoon. I’m fine, but I’m going to start keeping my phone out of sight when I’m walking past Epping Forest edges and through St John’s Recreation Ground, and I’ve told my teenager to do the same. Has anyone else noticed anything dodgy around The Victoria or near the Sainsbury’s Local, and is it worth reporting even if it’s just “suspicious” rather than an actual incident?
I’ve heard similar about that Station Road/High Road cut-through by Loughton Central, especially late afternoon, so you’re doing the right thing keeping it tucked away near St John’s and the forest edge. Definitely worth reporting to 101 even if it feels minor, it helps them build a picture around The Victoria and the Sainsbury’s Local.
Not seen anything myself by The Victoria or the Sainsbury’s Local, but a mate had someone on a bike brushing past near St John’s last week. I’d still log it with the police and maybe let the station staff know as well.
