Anyone else tried the breakfasts at The Tiptree Jam Tea Room on Factory Hill lately? I popped in after a walk round Tiptree Heath and the bacon roll was spot on, but I’m still on the hunt for somewhere along Church Road that does a really good Sunday roast without feeling too pricey. Where are you all going at the moment—any hidden gems or decent pub grub recommendations?
I had breakfast there a couple of weeks back and the fry-up was proper filling, nice after Tiptree Heath. For Sunday roast, the White Hart over in West Mersea’s been decent value lately if you don’t mind a short drive — are you after carvery-style or more homemade?
Love that place after a loop round Tiptree Heath, their bacon rolls are always decent. For a Sunday roast near Church Road, have you tried The Wilkin Arms in Tiptree or The Bell at Feering — both feel fair for the money in my experience.
I’ve only ever had the scones at the Tiptree Jam Tea Room but might have to try that bacon roll now. If you don’t mind a short hop off Church Road, The Ship at Great Braxted does a solid Sunday roast and it’s not daft money if you book ahead.
Not been to the Tea Room in ages but you’ve reminded me to pop in after a wander on the Heath. For a roast that won’t sting too much, I’ve had a decent one at The Crown in Great Totham — are you set on Church Road itself or happy to drive a few minutes?
