Resident Engagement Officer

Join Focus Resourcing Group as a Resident Engagement Officer in Southend-on-Sea, helping shape stronger relationships between services and the local community. This is a fantastic permanent opportunity in Essex for a confident communicator who enjoys making a visible difference to residents’ experiences.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and delivery of resident engagement plans and activity across Southend-on-Sea
- Organise and host resident meetings, forums, events and consultations to gather feedback and build trust
- Create clear, engaging communications for residents, partners and stakeholders (updates, surveys, briefings)
- Capture insights, analyse themes and report outcomes, ensuring actions are followed through and improvements are evidenced
- Build positive working relationships with internal teams and community groups to support inclusive engagement

What You’ll Need
- Extremely confident communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences in person and in writing
- Proven experience in resident/community engagement, customer experience, housing, local government, or a similar environment
- Strong planning and organisational skills, able to manage multiple activities and deadlines across a 37-hour Monday–Friday week
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach and genuine passion for improving resident involvement and community outcomes
