Had a couple of lads try car door handles along Castle Street late last night (just past the Dog & Duck), and it’s made me wonder if anyone else has noticed the same around the Common or down by Bridge End Garden. Worth a reminder to neighbours to double-check cars and sheds are locked, especially if you’re parking on street. Has anyone reported anything similar recently, or got any tips on the best way to flag it to the local police without it becoming a whole drama?
Saw a police car doing a slow loop round Castle Street/High Street this morning so you might not be the only one that’s called it in. If you’ve got a rough time and any descriptions it’s worth submitting it through the Essex Police website so it’s recorded, and they can link it to other reports.
We had similar a week or two back near Bridge End Garden, just lads trying doors and legging it when a light came on. I’d log it on 101/online to Essex Police as “suspicious activity” and mention Castle Street by the Dog & Duck so it’s on their radar without making a big song and dance.
I’m over by the Common and had someone on our road’s Ring cam about 2am the other night, just wandering car-to-car, so you’re not imagining it. I’d stick it on the Essex Police online form with the time/place (Castle Street by the Dog & Duck) and ask for a ref number so it’s logged.
