Secondary Cover Supervisor

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a Secondary Cover Supervisor for partner secondary schools in Witham, Essex, starting September 2026. This full-time, temp-to-perm opportunity is ideal if you’re confident leading a classroom and want a rewarding route into education in a supportive local setting.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise pre-planned lessons across KS3 and KS4, maintaining a positive learning environment
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and promote high expectations
- Support pupils to stay on task, offering guidance and encouragement where appropriate
- Record attendance, complete lesson feedback, and report any issues to teaching staff
- Build rapport with students and contribute to a safe, inclusive school culture

What You’ll Need
- Strong communication skills, professionalism, and the confidence to lead a class independently
- Experience working with young people (school, tutoring, coaching, youth work or similar) is highly desirable
- A calm, organised approach with good behaviour management and resilience under pressure
- A willingness to complete safeguarding checks (including an Enhanced DBS) and follow safeguarding procedures
